A mixture of bath herbs.
How it works on skin:
The effects of water bathing depend on the temperature of the water and the added ingredients.
Herbs used in our Herbs Bath:
Chamomile / Chamaemelum Nobile / Cornflower / Lime Tree Flower – have antibacterial and soothing properties; support the treatment of wounds, accelerate the healing of the skin.
Nettle Leaf – contains formic acid, plant mucus, mineral salts; tones the skin;
Spearmint / Peppermint – contain essential oils, has antiseptic effect; stimulating and soothing.
Lavender Flower – has antibacterial properties; Lavender Essential Oil is used in aromatherapy.
Damask Rose Petals – contain essential oil,
Cone Hops – has soothing and calming effect, helps to fall asleep.
Rosemary – has a strong antiseptic effect, rich in essential oil, has a pleasant soothing, fresh scent.
Dried herbs in combination with warm water release essential oils. Aromatic steam may have a stimulating or relaxing effect as it is resorbed by the mucosa during breathing.
Cold baths below 15C have a stimulating effect on the nervous system and metabolism and are therefore recommended for people with diabetes or rheumatism.
Warm baths 33-37C relax muscles, expand blood vessels and have a calming effect on the nervous system. Also relieve inflammation of the skin, sleep disorders, chronic kidney problems, inflammation and stiffness of muscles, tendons and joints.
Hot baths, above 38C, stimulate the whole body, but are not recommended.
Baths of variable temperatures enhance the peripheral blood flow and stimulate the respiratory system. If the blood pressure is too high or too low, the gradual raising or lowering of the water temperature strengthens the circulatory system and regulates its disturbances.
If you do not have a bathtub in which you could immerse yourself in the herbal steam, you can use herbs to create a facial steam bath. This treatment prepares the skin for cleansing.
Thanks to steam, the skin heats up and swells. The steam softens the horny layer of the epidermis and opens the pores, after swelling the skin absorbs better active ingredients soluble in water. Warm steam in the form of fog enriched with essential oils penetrates the skin and has a relaxing effect.
Note: Steam is not recommended for people with “vascular spider veins”, inflammation, rosacea, herpes, sunburn, high blood pressure, acute allergic reactions.
Put herbs in a bowl and pour over hot water (but not boiling water). Put the dish in such a place that you can comfortably lean over it while keeping a safe distance from the dish so that the steam does not burn the skin. Cover the head with a towel so as to create a kind of tent over the bowl. If you feel that it is too warm, the excess of the steam can be released by tilting the towel. Depending on the type of complexion, a facial steam bath may last from 2-3 minutes (dry and sensitive skin) up to 10 minutes (with oily skin). Moist skin should be dried with a towel, but without rubbing, which could irritate the skin. Then wipe your face with Tonic and apply the cream. The ingredients of cosmetics will penetrate deeper into the wet and warm skin. After the treatment the complexion will be warmed up and reddened, so it’s good to make a facial steam bath when you have time for yourself. Do not expose your face to the cool air for about an hour after the facial steam bath.
