The smell of the Anthropocene

The smell of the Anthropocene is the smell of plants growing on the remains of building funadments, elements of reinforced concrete structures, fragments of bricks and broken glass panes The smell of wild flowers, stems, leaves permeates with the steel smell of rusting metal bars. The perfume contains notes of helichrysum, lavender, verbena, lemon balm, thyme, embedded in a metallic-balsamic base. The smell of the Anthropocene was created with the use of alcohol produced from certified organic farming, 98.01% of the ingredients of the composition are from certified organic farming, and 100% of the ingredients are of natural origin.

The fragrance was commissioned by the National Institute of Architecture and Town Planning for the Antropocene exhibition, which takes place in the Zodiak Pavilion, in the Wiecha passage on 23/09/2022-27/11/2022.

TEDx Warsaw Women

TEDx Warsaw Women

In 2018, I had the pleasure to appear as one of the speakers at TEDx Warsaw Women. The event took place at the 6 Piętro Theater in the Palace of Culture and Science in Warsaw. The presentation is in English. The topic of my speech was: “Why what we put on our skin is as important as what we eat”. My intention was to draw attention to the ingredients of cosmetics and their impact on our skin and body. Why should we attach the same importance to which cosmetics we use as to our food? Why is it worth reading the ingredients and what to consider when buying skin care products?

Jan Barba in Puls Biznesu

In 2017, we had the pleasure to speak in the Puls Biznesu newspaper. It was a huge event for us and a huge event for a company that was founded 1.5 years earlier and started selling its first products a year before the interview was created. And while a lot has changed since then, our beliefs, values and work ethic remain the same.

We invite you to read on PB.pl , for more information about our company and our products on janbarba.com , and of course we invite you to our store at 25 Kopernika Street in Warsaw.

Podcast “Natural Perfumes from Jan Barba” Do Trzech Razy Skóra by Monika Potaczek

At the beginning of 2021, I had the pleasure of talking to Monika Potaczek, the creator of the series of podcasts Do Trzech Razy Skóra about perfumes, the process of creating a fragrance, and inspirations. The interview introduces you to the world of perfumery, reflection on perfume ingredients, evaluation of perfume quality in terms of the ingredients used. These are also my personal thoughts on the inspiration and approach to the world of perfumes. What is it guided by when creating fragrances, where does it draw impulses to create new fragrances, and why this creative process in each nose is individual, as is the process of creating any other art form. I cordially invite you to listen, and thank Monika again for your patience and making her platform available to me.

You can listen to the series of podcasts Do Trzech Razy Skóra here , and for more information about Jan Barba perfumes, please visit the Perfume website.
